Budget Friendly Desserts in Mason Jars are one of my favorites at parties! I love the presentation, the frugality, the convenience and ability to re-use these handy jars in so many ways. If you look in my pantry at any given time you’ll find a dozen jars of pickles, relishes, beets, sauces all lined up and labeled from previous year’s garden harvest.
I’m a mason jar lover for it’s original purpose, but nothing gets me more excited than seeing a fabulous dessert all packaged up neatly. One for you and you and you and you too!

1. Strawberry Shortcake
Who doesn’t love strawberry shortcake?! Grab these babies out of your own backyard, pick your own farms, in season at the local market or even delish from the freezer case! Whatever you do, don’t go without having your summer strawberry shortcake or you’ll have to wait a whole year (maybe not) to enjoy!
2. Mini Butterfinger Pie
I admit, I have NOT tried this one ‘yet’ . Don’t ask me how that happened cause well, Butterfingers!!
3. Berry Cheesecake Trifle
You had meat cheesecake baby! Imagine your excitement seeing these at a party table! Now imagine the oohs and ahhhhs you’ll get if you’re the one serving these festive and well, scrumptuous berry beauties!
4. Hot Cocoa Cakes
Brownie sundaes are one of my husband’s favorites. He’s one of those spur of the moment sweet eaters though. I can’t often ‘plan’ a dessert for him. I can just picture this one sitting in the freezer for his delight when he opens that door! ‘Brownie points’ for me!
5. Pumpkin Cheesecake
Did we just say pumkin and cheesecake in the same mouthful?! Yes indeed and well, if you want to be the talk of the dessert divas this one is a must !
6. Tiramisu Trifle
I can’t imagine many other deserts so classic to wow your guests or your family. The beauty of mason jars are being able to make a little or a lot, serve for a few or a home full of friends. This one is sure to be a winner!
7. Chocolate Mousse
Simple Elegance is all I think of when I spotted this idea. Oh, and chocolate! Some desserts ‘are’ the centerpiece and giving the focus of only one beauty in mason jars is just so elegant and timeless.
8. Watermelon Cake
Are these not the most festive desserts?!! O.K., so i’m all for Watermelon but ummm, give me a slice (rather, a jar) of this any day! Picture opening your fridge to one or ummm, six of these jars of sunshine! oh my yummy.
9. Peanut Butter Pie
You didn’t think we’d do a dessert post without peanutbutter, did you? haha.. Got you covered on that one! These freeze well too. Great for making ahead, storing and breaking out when the kids arrive home with friends. Don’t forget to stash one in back of fridge or freezer for yourself, this one will go quick!
10. Dirt Pudding
This one has been a classic at parties for years. OH, but has it been seen as many times in these fabulous single serve mason jars? Add some worms (gummy worms that is) and you’ve got a party in a jar!
11. Chocolate Mousse Brownie Trifles
This is another one I’m going to surprise my husband with (shhhhh). He packs his lunch every day and no fooling me, I know his sweet tooth is in full gear at work! This will pack up nicely and hey, if he’s still full when he gets home we can keep dinner simple that night!
12. Mason Jar Banana Cream Trifle
If banana’s are your go to dessert or you just happened to find a bunch on sale, yowza yum!!
Pick up jars at your dollar store, thrift stores, yard sales, amazon, walmart or like me, straight out of your cupboards! Use jars you can save from home like pickle or relish jars or even baby food jars!
I don’t know about you, but I’ve already decided which one of these I can whip up today. Whether it’s a family treat, a party of 40 or an individual special something, desserts in jars fit the bill. These are budget friendly, you get a big bang for your buck and fully customizable when you’re making your own. I know i’m digging out the cheesecake pudding mix right now!
I’m thinking I may need to buy one of these soon too! haha especially after all these fabulous deserts!
