Cranberry White Chip Cookie anyone? Cookies make it better, right?
Let’s not kid ourselves, home made gifts are always the best. They come with thought, love and a memory of the person who took the time and effort to think of you. Don’t get me wrong, I love a great box wrapped up, you know, the kind you shake first.
DIY gifts aren’t always the most frugal either. I mean, think about how much fabric or yarn or fleece blankets take to make. Budget breaker for me unless I’m using a great half off or more coupon. I make these killer calzones around the holidays and I get a lot of requests to make them for others. Don’t get me wrong, I love making them and my house smells like an Italian Deli, which I kinda like. However, these babies are not cheap if made the right way. I reserve making them for a couple of times a year now just to keep the budget in check. Besides, there are plenty of other great foods to make that cost less.
These and other cookie jar gifts are super affordable to make. You probably have most if not all ingredients already. You also get to use the jar as the giftwrap. No extra bags or bows needed! Now that’s multipurpose savings!.
Have you guessed yet? I love keeping ingredients on hand for a quick sweet fix and yup, I keep boxed mixes too. Heck, we just cooked up a box of brownies last night. (ps.. great for freezing if made as brownie cupcakes)
However, a pre-home-made cookie fix mix is all this rolled into one and tied with a bow of hugs. Let’s not forget the re-usable all purpose mason jar! If you follow me at all you know I’m a mason jar fanatic. I have cases of them that were gifted to me years ago, those are so special to me. I also grab a box or two more every year. Those glass goodies always excape from my stocked pantry so easily. (umm, family heists!)
While most of our mason jars go to pickles, sauces and relishes, I try to keep a few around for necessities. I like using these for storage, organizing rooms, holding cotton balls, and even toothbrush holder. I use them occasionally for mixing up drinks too. Put a lid on and shake shake shake magic.
O.K., I’m sure you’ve seen my mason jar desserts too and my all time favorite the one we did with a taco salad! Seriously, I could tag too many. Just go to the top of this page and search ‘mason jar’ and you’ll find a whole lotta great yum!
Mason Jar Gifts In All Their Rustic Appeal
There’s something about mason jar decor, gifts, and just seeing them in someone’s fridge that oozes a down home feel. When was the last time you went into a 21st century market and saw a mason jar filled with home made goodness. i thought so. Go to any craft fair, country store around and it’s usually one of the most sought after items. If not to buy but also to steal (i said steal!) the idea.
This seem like a good place to just slide on it with a bit of boasting about some of my most popular posts, the 3 ingredient cookes. Oh yes, I said ONLY three ingredients of cookies. You know when you want a quick fix and you don’t want to cover the counter in a kajillion ingredients only to put them away again. Yeah, those kind of cookies. These are no fail, no frills, bites of pure heaven when devoured in the dark with a good movie. (shhh, I won’t tell if you don’t)
Oh, you want to know which cookies I’m referring to? Here they are in these links (yeah, more links I know) Peanut Butter, Sugar, and Shortbread and they are each and every one only 3 ingredients. Hint: I’m working on a new 3 ingredient cookie very soon (oh my waistline!)

What Are You Doing With Your White Chip Cookies ?
Now that you’ve got your cookies all packaged up, I’m sure you want to make a batch too. It would be the right thing to do, taste them for perfection before you gift them all away.
These Cranberry White Chip Cookies are great neighbor gifts. They are especially great for the busy mom. Absolutely the perfect gift for the senior in your life. Most single and senior homes don’t need to bake 3 dozen batches, let alone buy ingredients they won’t need often.
I know many of us in 2020 aren’t having large gatherings, maybe this is a way of sharing some food you’d normally bring to eat on the day. There’s no health risks in dropping a jar off on a door step of an older or immune compromised loved one.
I am so not ready for this holiday season emotionally. I’m going to start really digging into cookie making, gift making soon. Shaking the ‘pandemic blues’ is particularly hard after the time change in New England. We’re already distancing and finding ourselves home so much more. Now the time change brings less daylight in our lives in Massachusetts. A good gift giving drive may be just what I need from time to time this year. Giving is always a great way to lift your spirits, it just feels right. Sharing a Cranberry White Chip Cookie Gift Jar is well, YUM.
These Cranberry White Chip Cookies in mason jars will certainly lift my spirits and I’m guessing a few others too.

Think what a better world it would be if we all, the whole world, had cookies and milk about three o’clock every afternoon and then lay down on our blankets for a nap.
